Rafal Rogusz

Principal Solicitor & Founder

Rafal is the Principal Solicitor and founding partner of Benefit Legal Lawyers, which was founded in September 2015.

Rafal commenced his career as a lawyer in Poland after graduating with a master’s degree in international public law in 2009.

In Australia, Rafal graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Technology in Sydney. Rafal was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in 2013 and employed as a litigation lawyer in other market-leading law firms servicing the Sydney community before establishing Benefit Legal Lawyers. Rafal has acted for clients across the full range of personal injury law types as well as family disputes, commercial litigation and estate and wills disputes.

Rafal is highly recommended and complimented by clients for his high academic merit and his ability to work efficiently in their often complex and challenging matters.

Rafal is admitted in the Supreme Court of NSW and is a member of the NSW Law Society and City of Sydney Law Society.
Rafal’s desire has always been to share his passion in understanding your needs and to put his best efforts in ensuring that you obtain the best possible outcome in your matter.

Rafal is also a Public Notary.

Rafal is fluent in Polish and speaks Spanish.

Andrew Corbett

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Benefit Legal Andrew enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 30 years within Financial Services which included holding Senior Executive positions within life & general insurance and superannuation organisations, as well as enjoying success within professional services and consulting.

The common thread that has contributed to Andrew’s success is his passion for creating highly engaged work cultures, developing people and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service.

He leads our human resources, strategy, operations and marketing functions.

Andrew is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lilyann Gabb-Partridge

Receptionist & Client Support

As receptionist and client support, Lily is the first point of contact for our office and is here to assist you with your enquiries and direct you to the person in our team who is best placed to assist you.

Lily is passionate about providing the highest level of client service, with 5 years’ experience working in various customer service based roles, including a number of volunteer roles.

She is currently completing a Diploma of Library and Information Services, and a Diploma of Family History.

With a keen interest in research, in her free time, Lily enjoys doing genealogical research and volunteering at a medical museum here in Sydney.

Samantha Curro

Solicitor & Practice Lead

Samantha has worked in the legal industry since 2000. Since being admitted as a solicitor in 2008, she has practiced in a variety of legal areas which has provided her with a strong understanding of the law and ability to assist clients with excellent advice.

She has extensive personal injury legal knowledge, including motor vehicle accident, workers compensation, public liability, medical negligence and superannuation/ Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) claims. She has strong negotiation and mediation skills with a keen attention to detail.

Her strong track record of successfully dealing with complex and difficult claims involving major injuries, has seen her achieve significant outcomes while representing clients in both the District and Supreme Courts.

Rest assured, Samantha will deal with your matter promptly, efficiently and with strong communication throughout.

Samantha has completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She is also a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.

Garrick Wong

Solicitor

Garrick is a recent graduate of the University of New South Wales, with a double degree in Law and Commerce.

He has recently completed his Practical Legal Training (PLT) and is due to be admitted as a solicitor in late 2023.

Garrick has a keen interest in the law operating and the ways we can deliver justice to all our clients.

He has assisted our solicitors with public liability matters in both the District and Supreme Courts, motor vehicle accident matters, total and permanent disablement (TPD} and workers compensation claims.

He is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for clients and communicating with empathy and compassion.

Garrick is fluent in Cantonese and speaks basic Mandarin.

Jennifer Agyei

Solicitor & Practice Lead

Jennifer graduated with a double degree in Law and Arts in International Studies from the University of Canberra and completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University.

She was admitted in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in 2012 and has managed plaintiff personal injury matters in the ACT with one of Australia’s oldest firms serving Canberra.

Prior to joining Benefit Legal, Jennifer, worked with insurers specialising in NSW workers compensation for over 7 years. Her diverse background has also included her working for the Credit and Investments Ombudsman.

At Benefit Legal, Jennifer specialises in workers compensation, motor vehicle accident and total and permanent disablement (TPD) claims.

Jennifer is admitted in the Supreme Court of NSW and is a member of the NSW Law Society and City of Sydney Law Society.

Jennifer is fluent in Akan and speaks basic Spanish.

Sarah Khalaf

Paralegal

Sarah is currently studying at Australian Catholic University, undertaking a Bachelor of Laws. She possesses a strong commitment for the law, dedication to advocating justice and a passion for helping people which allows her to support our team of solicitors and their clients.

She has experience assisting solicitors in workers compensation (NSW and ACT), public liability, work injury damages, motor vehicle accident and Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) matters.

Guided by empathy and professionalism, Sarah prides herself on making positive impacts in the lives of clients that we represent. She appreciates the strong working relationships she has been able to create with clients and ensures she is always reliable, diligent, and determined.

Sarah is able to converse at a basic level in Arabic.

Joseph Dinh

Solicitor & Practice Lead

Joseph is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia.

Prior to joining Benefit Legal, Joseph had a combined 10 years’ experience working for GIO Workers.

Compensation (Agent for I-Care) and leading corporate firms providing strategic liability advice to employers and insurers. He has dealt with a range of clients from small businesses to large corporations and media networks in Australia. Joseph uses his experience and expertise to strategically settle claims as efficiently as possible.

At Benefit Legal, Joseph handles insurance litigation, workers compensation, motor accident claims and disability insurance including Total & Permanent Disablement (TPD) claims.

Joseph is a member of the City of Sydney Lawyers Society and NSW Law Society.

With an extensive record of community and charity work across Australia, in 2009 the Federal Vietnamese Community in Australia awarded him “Australian Vietnamese of the Year”. He was also nominated the Bankstown Local Government Australia Day Award for Citizen of the Year 2009.

On weekends, Joseph enjoys being involved in the wedding industry as an Authorised Civil Celebrant and reception Event-Host.

Joseph speaks fluent Vietnamese.

Alan Nguyen

Legal Assistant

Alan is currently studying for a Bachelor of Advanced Computing at the University of Sydney.

He assists our team with administrative tasks and his computer/IT skills!

With a passion for helping others, Alan takes great pride in being responsive and dependable in his support to our team and our clients.

Alan is able to converse at a basic level in Vietnamese

Dominika Walkowiak

Solicitor & Practice Lead

Dominika completed the Diploma in Law course at the University of Sydney and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in December 2019.

Dominika commenced her career as a lawyer in Poland where she graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University, completing her Management and Marketing degree in 2011 and Master of Laws degree in 2013.

She has been working in the legal industry in Australia for more than 7 years. Having worked on many complex personal injury matters, Dominika has successfully resolved numerous compensation claims achieving multimillion dollar settlements for her clients.

Dominika has a keen interest in fighting for her clients in, medical negligence, work injury damages as well as motor vehicle accidents (NSW and QLD), TPD and workers compensation claims. She also has experience in commercial litigation, family provisions, succession, public liability family law and migration matters. Her extensive experience in litigation, representing her clients both, in District Court and Supreme Court ensures she is able to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. She has worked on many cases with complex legal and factual issues, involving multiple parties and severely injured clients.

Dominika is known amongst her clients for her empathy, compassion, determination, hard work and persistence. She prides herself in being dedicated and having an ability to build strong working relationships with her clients.

Her passion outside of work is handball in which she has also proven to be very successful over many years. She now plays for the University of Sydney and for the National Team of Australia.

She is fluent in Polish and basic Serbian.
